Overview
Our Essaouria private full-day trip takes you from Marrakech through the spectacular elegance of the coastal town of Essaouria. Built on the Atlantic port, this historic town is full of landmarks, souks, and a rich breeze blowing from the sea. Take in the 18th-century Skala fort with its cannon-lined ramparts, promenade along the Moulay el Hassan square, savor seafood at the restaurants, and shop for beautiful handcrafts in the UNESCO-listed blue-and white medina. The trip includes hotel pickup and drop-off in an air-conditioned 4x4 or minivan.
Tour Plan
The trip starts at 8am when the driver picks you up at your accommodation, taking you through the beautiful and Essaouria landscape. Your excursion will take you to an argan Cooperative to see how local women make the precious argan oil used for food and cosmetics.
On arrival at Essaouira, you will spend the whole day exploring its castle and the medieval walls surrounding the Medina. A picturesque view of its blue-shuttered and whitewashed houses will blow your mind away. Its long narrow streets make for excellent strolls around the ancient Portuguese and French buildings. Go to the beach, soak in the beauty of the busy harbor, and have a tasty lunch at one of the restaurants in the port. While you can use the help of a local guide, it’s best to discover the medina on your own.
The trip ends when you return to Marrakech around 6 pm.
